Hi,
I just moved from France to Germany and I do not speak German yet. I am a bit lost with KabelDeutschland installation and need help.
I have a Fritz!box 7270 v.2 installed in my home. I was wondering how to upgrade to LAN 1 Gigabit. A neighbour is selling his used (Gebraucht) Fritz!box 7390 which has the Gigabit LAN ports.
The first question is: May I purchase this used 7390 and install it in my home or I need to purchase it directly with KabelDeutschland?
The second question is: are there alternative cheaper telephones to the KD FritzPhone MT-F so I can connect via DECT to the Fritz!box? Or only the MT-F will work with the 7270-7390 Fritz!box models?
The last question is: is there any way to integrate Skype into Fritz!box 7270 or 7390?
I work from home and I really need all those features working well and fast.
Thank you in advance for your advice! Vielen Dank!
Margrave

Re: Help!
Was that box sold as "Homebox" by KabelDeutschland or did you purchase it somewhere else?Margrave hat geschrieben: I have a Fritz!box 7270 v.2 installed in my home.
For internet you can use any Router which is enabled for Cable-Internet. This includes the 7390.The first question is: May I purchase this used 7390 and install it in my home or I need to purchase it directly with KabelDeutschland?
For telephony, you are either very restricted (when using aftermarket solutions you can only use one telephone line with one number) or bound to an box sold or rent by KabelDeutschland
Only the MT-F handsets give you all the features of the FritzBox. But every handset with DECT-GAP will work more or less feature-rich Also, there can be some problems regarding compatibility at all.The second question is: are there alternative cheaper telephones to the KD FritzPhone MT-F so I can connect via DECT to the Fritz!box? Or only the MT-F will work with the 7270-7390 Fritz!box models?
Beside that, you can still use any analog DECT-Telephone with it's own receiver on one of the connectors for telephones. This will be compatible for sure.
No. Skype has always been very strict with 3rd party clients. The last question is: is there any way to integrate Skype into Fritz!box 7270 or 7390?

Re: Help!
Thank you Newty
My reply was not posted, so I try again, sorry if any double posting.
thank you for the hints about DECT.
The Fritz!box 7270 was delivered by KD. There are no markings in it from KD, only AVM the manufacturer. No mention of "Homebox" in the packaging.

Re: Help!
You can't use the 7390 on the Kabel Deutschland-connection. Internet would operate properly but the phonelines are joined with this special 7270 you have.Margrave hat geschrieben:The first question is: May I purchase this used 7390 and install it in my home or I need to purchase it directly with KabelDeutschland?
You can connect the 73790 behind the 7270, using the 7390 as a switch but I think this is overkill.
There are two possibilities:
1. Get a cheap switch to have GBit-LAN behind the 7270
2. Get a Fritzbox6360 from KD. This is a Fritzbox with integrated Cablemodem, GBit-LAN and the other features are roughly the same as in 7390. But the FB6360 will cost 5 € per month.
You can connect almost every DECT-phone to the 7270 (or 7390 or 6360). But due to the "non-standard" Features on DECT-phones, the handling (Menu, adressbook etc) may be not as smooth as with the Fritzfon. The second question is: are there alternative cheaper telephones to the KD FritzPhone MT-F so I can connect via DECT to the Fritz!box? Or only the MT-F will work with the 7270-7390 Fritz!box models?
Perhaps you can get the Fritzfon MT-D? It has only monochrom-Display but it works quite good.

I don't know any FritzBox which can use the Skype protocolThe last question is: is there any way to integrate Skype into Fritz!box 7270 or 7390?

Re: Help!
Thank you Silverio, the overview is now clear for me.
Could you post an indication of a cheap switch to have GBit-LAN behind the 7270? I have made a research on Internet but the many technical specifications are a bit confusing.
Any help would be welcome!

Yes, but the KD-telephony is at the moment fix bundled with the existing 7270!Falco hat geschrieben:hi, For internet you can use any Router which is enabled for Cable-Internet.For telephony i propose to use this IP phone( can use the Skype protocol)
As switch you can take every normal Gbit-switch as this one:
