Alkinger, can you dig into the event log and find the specific CMTS MAC there, just to compare (02:xx:xx vs DC:Ax:xx)?

Global vs local/private address: It's determined by the 2nd bit in the first byte (the two first digits from the left). If this bit is set to 1, the address is private - and will therefore never be allocated to an organization (unknown when you look it up).

02:xx:xx

02 = the 2nd bit is 1.

The examples I've seen, the OUI has been 02:xx:xx, so a private address.

Ah, so maybe my feedback got through to the right people after all. They started off with DC:Ax:xx, which seemed like a clever fit for their DCA infrastructure, but unfortunately wasn't private.
